My stay in a yurt at Wagon Trail Campground was arranged by the Door County Visitor Bureau. All opinions are my own.
You won't find RVs lined up like they are at a dealership or tents clustered in an open field at this highly rated campground. Instead, secluded sites nestled in the tall pines welcome campers of all types.

Camping at Wagon Trail Campground in Door County
Located near the end of the Door County peninsula, Wagon Trail Campground offers easy access to hiking trails, a beach, and the restaurant, bakery, and pub at Rowley's Bay Resort.
The first thing you notice as you enter the campground is the lack of campers. Be assured, they are there, but each site is tucked away in the trees. As you catch a glimpse of the private sites a feeling of complete peace settles on you. You know this is going to be a great camping experience!
Types of Camping at Wagon Trail Campground
How do you like to camp? You'll probably find it at Wagon Trail Campground!
RVers will appreciate the spacious sites that are big-rig friendly (average site size is 30'x50′). Though there are less than a dozen full hook-up sites, you'll find plenty of electric & water spots, as well as loads of seasonal sites.
Want to try a camper before you buy into the lifestyle? Two travel trailer rentals are available.

Tent sites are huge and set back in the trees. It almost feels like you're alone in the woods.

A handful of yurts have their own private plots near the tents. These super cute round dwellings sleep 5 and have heat and electricity. You'll find Adirondack chairs, a fire ring, picnic table, and water spigot outside.

Extra Amenities at Wagon Trail Campground
If you read Trip Advisor Reviews for Wagon Trail Campground the first thing you notice is that people rave about the clean restrooms and beauty of the grounds.
But there are plenty of other amenities worth mentioning.

The camp store has everything you might need- as well as fun items you didn't realize you needed.
Attached to the store and main office are a laundry room, game room, and adult sitting room with a fireplace. Just outside you'll find a charming sitting area and a playground.
Want to fish in Lake Michigan? You can purchase bait and rent fishing poles; then bring your catch back to the campground fish cleaning table and store your fish in the available freezer.
If you didn't get a full hookup site you don't have to unhook to dump- a honey wagon service is available!
If that weren't enough, the staff at Wagon Trail Campground is friendly and helpful. And this, probably more than all the terrific amenities and options, is what brings people back year after year and creates firm fans.
